What Is Jordan’s Principle?
Jordan’s Principle ensures that First Nations children receive the services and supports they need, when they need them, without delay. It is named in memory of Jordan River Anderson, a boy from Norway House Cree Nation in Manitoba.
Jordan’s Principle addresses gaps in services by supporting access to health, education, and social services for First Nations children.
To apply for support or get assistance with a request, contact a Jordan’s Principle Service Coordinator or Indigenous Services Canada.
